HTL Q-SYS is built on the Austrian education system’s traditional input-oriented quality structure and extends it into a comprehensive programme for systematically safeguarding and further developing the quality of schools and colleges for engineering, arts and crafts. The guidelines for the management under HTL Q-SYS are the following:

  • Continuous improvement of the learning, teaching and working environment will increase the educational institutions’ attractiveness, create a benefit for the stakeholders – particularly students – and generate satisfaction among school partners.
  • Agreements on common objectives and results-oriented practice at the levels of schools, the school inspection and bm:ukk will increase the efficiency of educational institutions.
  • Self-evaluation and nationwide evaluation focuses will ensure that objectives are achieved and promote organisational development.
  • The standardisation of processes will create synergies and freedom of action; openness and information will create transparency and trust.
  • Motivation and recognition will promote the school and organisational environment and encourage personal improvement.
  • Managers will assume responsibility for quality management, act in a manner that promotes quality, and serve as a model to all.
